October, 2021

Half way through October without a post - until now.   Both of us received a Moderna booster shot ten days ago.  CVS made it easy. After some mild discomfort, with a two-day duration, we are back to some sort of normal.  We vaccinate and wear masks.  As I have previously stated, we believe in protecting ourselves as well as others in our community.  It puzzles me why some folks deny their moral obligation to do likewise.  Perhaps someone could explain to me why vaccination is wrong.

Monday this week was a gelato day.  We created a substantial quantity of that frozen stuff made easier by the newly inaugurated high capacity hardening cabinet.  The presence of that blast-freezing machine reduced the between-batch time lapse to a minimum.  More tomorrow.

We play bridge in a couples group  each month and that has enabled us to make some new friends - slowly.  Occasionally we play bridge at the local sanctioned bridge club where we’ve been able to pick up some master points.  I think I’ve scored 3 points in a year.  Some of the participants there have well over a thousand master points, but none of them can make gelato.

Property values in Beaumont are mind boggling. Our next door neighbors house hit the MLS market yesterday and garnered a full-price offer within three hours. It doesn't make sense. I think there's an adjustment coming. Beware.
