Scooper Duty

 Ugly freeway conditions ground our Redlands drive to multiple halts friday.  Our target arrival time, at Happy Camper Creamery, was 5:50 p.m. An early view of traffic conditions prompted us to depart home at 4:15 p.m.  Good grief the cars were everywhere, and stopped.  Thirty minutes melted away before we accessed Highway 10 using locals-only sneaking routes.  The Cherry Valley on-ramp was Google- Maps-Blue when, at last, we made that intersection.  (I’m still a NorCal person as evidenced by my failure to refer to US 10 as “The Ten”.)  Our total elapsed travel time for that 27 minute ride was 65 minutes.


Sue and I pulled scooper duty at the Gelato Shop.  The staffing lineup got skewed when a regular employee presented Covid symptoms.  We’re happy to help whenever we are needed and the cash is good - oh yeah, we don’t get paid.   Here’s the Redlands Community News article that’s been in the works for six weeks:
